Florecer

The new year with hope. We close the year as a community and open

Your way of feeling, experiencing, and going through these dates is valid.

Christmas invites us to pause, to breathe more slowly, and to return to what is essential. It is a time to look at those around us, reconnect with family—both those we are born with and those we choose—and remember that no one flourishes in isolation.
We deeply believe in the value of connection, companionship, and genuine presence; this is how we understand the bonds we form during this time of year.

The family in all its forms

For neurodivergent people, family can be a source of support… but also of
misunderstanding. That’s why we speak of family in a broad sense: people who listen, respect boundaries, and offer support without judgment. Family is those who:

Validate your sensory and emotional needs

Understand that rest is also self-care

Accept your silences and your ways of communicating

It allows you to be yourself, without masks

Community, sharing together

Florecer was born and thrives thanks to a community that believes in care, empathy, and respect for human diversity.
This year, we have witnessed how support, listening, and closeness transform processes and generate hope. That is a living community; support is essential for neurodivergent people. It is a space where the goal is not to fit in, but to belong. At Florecer, we believe in safe, empathetic, and humane communities where:

Diversity isn't corrected, it's respected.

Each person has their own pace.

The support is genuine.

How do we adapt Christmas at Florecer?

Adapting Christmas meant listening first and designing from there.
Christmas was celebrated in Florecer:

In calm environments, avoiding excessive stimuli

With flexibility in participation, without obligation to constantly interact

Respecting personal and sensory limits

Prioritizing emotional well-being over traditional celebration

Another way to experience Christmas is possible

These spaces strengthened the Florecer community, reminding us that no one should go through these times alone. Sharing with other neurodivergent people and families allowed us to create bonds, mutual support, and a real sense of belonging. Because when the community comes together, Christmas ceases to be a burden and can be transformed into a space of care.

How do we adapt Christmas at Florecer?

The start of a new year doesn’t have to be burdened with pressure, impossible goals, or comparisons. It can simply be an opportunity to take better care of yourself and ask for support when you need it.
Flourishing in community also means adapting the world so that everyone can live in it with dignity and peace. May the new year bring:

More understanding

More safe spacesto constantly interact

More guilt-free rest

More community

Thank you for being part of this diverse and deeply human community.
We continue walking together, creating spaces where each person can flourish in their own way.
